SunMizer is the solar products and services division of Xandex Inc., a diversified technology company based in Petaluma, California. Xandex was founded in 1981 to design and manufacture products used in the global semiconductor industry. In 2007, the solar division was established under the SunMizer® brand. Visit www.Xandex.com for more information on Xandex.
SunMizer Solar Solutions offers a comprehensive suite of Solar Planning, Pre-installation, Procurement, Installation and Interconnection services for both residential and commercial solar projects. In Residential solar, we specialize in working with developers, builders and contractors to plan and implement Solar in new home developments. In Commercial solar, we work with architects and builders to develop rooftop, ground mount or parking structure solar installations. See the Services Listing on this page for more information.
As a division of Xandex, we operate under the ISO Quality System and guidelines of our parent company. Xandex has based its success on integrity in all relationships, technological innovation, respect for the environment, and quality in everything we do. The Xandex Quality Managment and Environmental Management Systems are modeled after ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14000:2015. Xandex was one of the first companies of its size when it was certified to the ISO Standard, in 1997, by the National Standards Authority of Ireland. What we can do

Solar Site Analysis
Collecting solar data in the early design stage of project development is an important step in determining the maximum solar potential of every project. New construction installation planning includes a review of the preliminary building plans. The SunMizer Team, in conjunction with licensed roofing and electrical contractor partners visit each site in person to collect site geographic, insolation and shade data to guide design planning.

Data Driven Solar Design
Analysis of orientation and potential shade effects ensures that solar arrays are situated to minimize system size while maximizing power production. We use online tools like NREL developed SAM and HOMER by UL to model energy potential, inform materials selection and maximize solar designs.

Cost and ROI Analysis
Our in-house design and engineering team use their expertise and real world data to match the project owner's unique energy consumption needs (including demand modeling) using online tools like OnGrid to ensure that each design meets cost expectations and maximizes power and financial returns.

CAD Design Drawings
CAD documentation can be provided to support 3D renderings in early project development layouts for conceptualization and can be carried forward for all construction related activities.

Solar Permit Package
We use the architectural plans to create detailed solar plans designed specifically for each project's solar installation as a complete package ready to submit for solar permit approval.

End User Documentation
At project completion, we provide the project owner all operation and maintenance documents, including all materials warranties, inverter and monitoring system manuals, and utility interconnection documents.

Solar Modules
We select high performance, bankable solar modules that are commercially available from North American manufactured module lines that can be specified to fit the style and aesthetics desired for a given project. Module power outputs can be specified to maximize area constraints and to mitigate costs.

Racking and Footings
Racking and footings are specified from top tier manufacturers to support all roof covering types; composition shingle, tile, TPO, PVC, standing metal seam, BIPV, ground mount structures, carports structures, shade structures, single and dual axis trackers, and floating constructs.

Inverter and Electrical
We source power conversion and electrical interconnects from bankable industry proven manufacturing leaders to satisfy the site requirements and to meet or exceed local & state electrical and fire code standards. We design central, string and micro-inverter systems for maximum safety and optimal power production.

CAD Design Engineering
SunMizer CAD drawings are currently done in Solidworks, however, we also have a long history with AutoCAD. Designs are verified by independent, licensed professionals as required. Design documentation is controlled thought engineering change principals, ECR, ERN, ECO and stored via PDM to ensure revisions history.

Fire / Electrical Code Compliance
Reviews are conducted with contract resources to identify any gaps in local compliance requirements in order to provide code compliant designs and permit documentation.

Design Aesthetics
Our design philosophy dictates that solar should not only produce power efficiently and safely, but especially in rooftop mounted arrays, it should blend into the design concepts of the building it is installed on. In other words, we strive, through design and material selection, to implement solar in a way that complements the supporting structure.

Installation Management
We offer project management oversite to ensure timelines and milestone are met through multiple communication channels and task tracking.

Contractor Coordination
We work closely with project electrical and roofing contractors to coordinate material logistics and installation schedule to ensure a coordinated install and minimized downtime.

Interconnect Cooridnation
Because we work the project from design to interconnection, we have been known to receive permission to operate (PTO) in record time. This is due to our attention to detail and consistent communication with the utility company.
Residential
The SunMizer team designs residential photovoltaic solar for new home developments, custom homes and solar retrofits to existing homes. Flat or sloped roof, curved and flat tile, composite shingle, metal or membrane roofing materials, our expertise in roofing types and solar material selection ensures superior results.
Professional Design
Residential solar is now standard in all new homes built in California. We work with architects, developers and roofing contractors to design Schedule 24 compliant systems for new home developments.
Appearance Matters
We design systems that not only provide superior performance and durability, but also complement the aesthetics of the homes they are installed on.
Installation Management
We work closely with roofing and electrical contractors to ensure that solar logistics and installation fit seamlessly into the overall construction workflow.
Commercial
Commercial solar encompasses a variety of rooftop, ground mount, parking structure and even over water solar installations for a broad group of business, institutional, government and non-profit entities. SunMizer provides the detailed planning, documentation, materials selection, logistics and project management to ensure on-time / on-budget projects.
Design & Engineering
Our parent company was founded 40 years ago as a design and engineering enterprise to improve aspects of the semiconductor test industry. The SunMizer Team strives to provide the same quality driven attention to detail in our solar design work as we do in our design and engineering for our semiconductor test products.
Documentation & Permitting
Design and permitting documentation is supplied in support of local permit requirements and includes structural calculations and electrical architecture / calculations as well as utility interconnect data in a complete package ready to submit to the city for permit approval.
Installation Management
We offer project management oversite to ensure timelines and milestones are met through various forms of communication and tracking. In this way, we work closely with contractor partners to manage logistics and workflow for smooth transitions from concept through design, build and interconnection.
Utility Interconnection
Because we work the project from design to interconnection, we have been known to receive permission to operate (PTO) in record time. This is due to our attention to detail, thourough documentation and consistent communication with the utility company throughout the project.
